The Isle of Birds - Situated

Christmas in Tivoli
November 14th to December 30th in Tivoli
Tivoli presents all the delights of Christmases past and present: miniature
villages with shops full of gifts and goodies, beautiful scenery with lamps lit
in trees and in a large tent at the centre you'll find the charming village of 'Nissekøbing',
an exhibition of hundreds of mechanical pixies (in Danish 'nisser')all in full
swing with various Christmas activities!

Christmas Markets - November 23rd to

centers, twinkle with lights and invite you to share the joy of the
pre-Christmas season. The aroma of Gluehwein, baked apples and sausages wafts
through the air, while stories of Christmas traditions are told and re-enacted.

A three-day day fair dedicated to everything to

Dundee Mountain Film
Festival - 26th - 29th November 2008
In its 25th year, the festival will feature mountain film showings, and
presentations by luminaries such as Andy Cave, Will Gadd, Børge Ousland, Marko
Prezelj and Stephen Venables.
Edinburgh's Christmas -
27th November - 25th December 2008
One of Europe's finest Christmas festivals returns with a month-long programme
bringing warmth and festive cheer to Edinburgh as the city transforms itself

St. Andrew's Day - 30th
November 2008 - Across Scotland
St. Andrew's Day is celebrated all around Scotland. There are various activities
in Scotland's six cities, including massive free ceilidhs in Princes Street
Gardens, Edinburgh and George Square, Glasgow. Also, more than 60 of Scotland's
top visitor attractions from Skara Brae to Edinburgh Castle will open for free
on St Andrew's Day.

Scotland's annual celebration of queer culture and the UK's largest multi-arts
gay festival is back to celebrate its 14th year with events spanning comedy,

deserves the title of ‘Capital of Culture’. Competition is always fierce, as
every city bids to showcase its contribution to the world’s cultural landscape.

Liverpool shares the title with Stavanger in Norway.
