Besancon International Music Festival - Besancon -  September
A classical music extravaganza in the heart of Franche-Comté, the Besançon International Music Festival presents concerts in venues from churches to castles in and around beautiful Besançon.

Patrimony Days  This is a sort of "Back to your Roots Celebration" all over the country.  Historical privately owned houses and buildings are open and free to the public.

Dundee Flower & Food Festival - 5th - 7th September 2008
Dundee Flower and Food Festival is a three-day extravaganza of superb entertainment for all the family. Scottish Countryside Festival - 6th - 7th September 2008 - Glamis, Angus
Scotland's Countryside Festival is held in the spectacular grounds of Glamis Castle, childhood home of the Queen Mother. Traditional country-fair attractions such as fishing, shooting and dog competitions, feature alongside a more unusual range of offerings. Scottish Food Fortnight is a harvest-time celebration of all that is good about Scottish food and drink. Brechin Arts Festival - 13th - 28th September 2008 - Brechin, Angus
With 73 performances, workshops and demonstrations, over 30 exhibitors and more, the Brechin Arts Festival has become one of the biggest cultural events happening in Scotland this year.
