Beethoven Festival - Bonn -

After having shown
Beethoven’s influence in the Bohemian and Moravian lands in 2004 and
having traced his relations to the cultural region of France in 2005,
we’ll turn our eyes to Russia this year: Rossija – the Russian name of the
country in Latin characters – is the motto of the Beethovenfest Bonn 2006.
Beetoven never went to Russia, but Russia came to him.

Spain in September
Goyesca Fair,
Ronda - 1 - 7 September 2008
Popular bullfight in which the fighters dress
in the costumes shown in Goya's famous 18th century paintings. Before the
bullfight there is a costume parade with horse-drawn carriages, through the
town and ending at Ronda's historic bull ring, in the middle of the arena.

VUELTA -
Granada to Madrid
August 30-September 21, 2008
The Spanish "Tour de France" begins on August 30th
and the mountain stages commence September 6th in the Pyreenes through Andorra
and head west toward Burgos over that week. Five more climbing days
begin on the 11th through the 15th with the last three stages, climb-time
trial and final in Madrid around September 19-21st.

Dundee Flower and Food Festival is a three-day extravaganza of superb

Country Park, the event showcases fabulous floral and garden displays and
competitions and cookery demonstrations by famous-name chefs. There are also
competitions, craft stalls, fashion shows and children's activities.

Festival - 6th - 7th September 2008 - Glamis, Angus
Scotland's Countryside Festival is held in the spectacular grounds of Glamis
Castle, childhood home of the Queen Mother. Traditional country-fair attractions
such as fishing, shooting and dog competitions, feature alongside a more unusual
range of offerings. Children can have fun catching fish, trying out archery, or
exploring our Children's Corner; and for shoppers, there's a food hall and an
extensive and exclusive crafts tent.

6th - 21st September 2008 - Across Scotland
Scottish Food Fortnight is a harvest-time celebration of all that is good about
Scottish food and drink. Shops, hotels, restaurants, schools, Farmers Markets
and many others will be taking part in the national celebration of the vast
array of wonderful, fresh, seasonal produce that is available from our Scottish
countryside.
Brechin Arts Festival -
13th - 28th September 2008 - Brechin, Angus
With 73 performances, workshops and demonstrations, over 30 exhibitors and more,
the Brechin Arts Festival has become one of the biggest cultural events
happening in Scotland this year. Artists Dennis Buchan, Doug Cocker, Michael
Visocchi and Clare Yarrington and performers Karen Matheson, Young-Choon Park,
London Piano Trio and Red-Hot Chilli Pipers headline.
Merchant City Festival -
25th - 28th September 2008 - Glasgow
Glasgow's multi-arts festival brings to the Merchant City over 300 events that
make for five days packed with music, theatre, comedy, film, food and
exhibitions, all celebrating the cultural richness of Glasgow's old commercial

Christie Festival - September 15-20, 2008 in the English Riviera (Torquay,
Paignton & Brixham - England)
This popular event celebrates the life and works of the world's most
publiched author - Agatha Christie. The week-long festival always
coincides with the birthday of Torquay’s most famous literary daughter.
The festival features live events, special tours, cinema, themed dances, walks,
talks and theatre… all in celebration of the world’s most famous crime writer.
