In Martinique,
the island of flowers, and home of the Balata Botanical Gardens. For
history buffs, there is a museum at the birthplace of Empress
Josephine,and Paul Gauguins" residence. In St-Pierre, the
Volcano Museum commemorates the infamous eruption of Mont Pelée
where 30,000 inhabitants lost their lives in 1902. All three islands
have volcanic histories spanning many centuries.

As you step on the soil of Reunion, in the
Indian Ocean, the exotic aromas of saffron, cinnamon, cloves, nutmeg

Carnival on the two West Indian island is
the most important event when all business close and costumed
revelers parade and dance in the streets. Alternating every other
year in December with the International Jazz Festival and
International Guitar Festival both which feature many world-class
musicians. On Reunion mountain climbing and surfing await you.

85 degrees all year-round, cooler in the mountains. Trade winds

Cuisine
The food alone
is worth a visit. Chefs uniquely create their own special dishes by
applying the traditional style of French cuisine to local Creole and
African delicacies. Fresh fish appears on almost all menus as well
as accras, cod fish fritters, blaff, a sea urchin
soup, colombo, curried goat, pork or chicken, crabes
farcis, stuffed crab. Martinican rum is famous.
On Reunion crayfish curry, tomato "rougail"
and flavors of Africa, Tamil, China, India and France unite in an
unique and excellent cuisine.
