Highlights of Southern
Italy
Napoli to the Amalfi Coast

From the bay of
Naples to the ruins of Pompeii and Herculaneum - for our clients we
will share the pro and cons of both locations as places to visit and
enjoy.
For families with children Pompeii has
great adventures as kids delight in seeing the ovens, running and
climbing in the amphitheatre and for teenagers the brothel is always a
highlight.
|
| Don’t
miss the Museo Nazionale in Naples, one of the best archaeological
Museums in the world, especially painting and mosaic rooms, the huge
Farnese Bull and Farnese Hercules come from the baths of Caracalla in Rome
and much of the collection comes from the ruins in Pompeii and
Herculaneum. Henri
and I often stay in our favorite Hotel in Sorrento, with a glorious view
of the Bay from our large terrace and in Pompeii where we have a fine
hotel with free parking! From both locations we reach Naples and the
Amalfi coast easily.

If
you wish to go to Capri then staying in Sorrento is a positive as the
ferry leaves often from the docks. Another more undiscovered island is
Procida full of orange and lemon groves and like its sister islands of
Ischia and Capri composed of volcanic rock. |

If
you wish to stay on the Amalfi coast do consider Ravello-the lemon trees
and vineyards can be seen from many cafes where a glass of white wine
enhances people watching. In summer there are music concerts along the
coast and you can do as we do and do half the coast per day. Oh such
beauty, the entire coast is a treasure and not to be done in one day-
believe us!
We
like to stay for two or three days and take the boat from Positano to
Amalfi (which does have a public beach) and on a second day drive
(or take the bus) to Ravello.

| We
can advise you also on other boat adventure from Positano that takes you
both to the Emerald grotto and to the
nearby islands, Li galli, and Nerano for a little swimming. |
Off
season is a delight until early November!
